You will also be responsible for cleaning meats and cutting fish into steaks. Additionally you may have the opportunity to supervise butchers and fishmongers. This role requires working on site in supermarket. Communication skills and flexibility are important qualities that will help you succeed in this job. Education: No degree, certificate, or diploma is required for this position.
Experience: 1 year of experience as meat cutter or butcher.
Skills: Knowledge of pricing meat products and preparing special displays for sale.
Type: Full-time and permanent employment.
Eligibility: Canadian citizens and other candidates with or without work permit.
Responsibilities
- Clean and trim meats to make them ready for sale.
- Cut large pieces of meat into smaller cuts for customer.
- Prepare special meat cuts based on customer requests.
- Remove bones from meat safely and correctly.
- Cut fish into steaks and fillets for easy cooking.
- Wrap and package meat to keep it fresh and clean.
- Weigh and price meat so customers know the cost.
- Help customers pick meats by giving advice and suggestions.
- Take special orders and prepare meat as required.
- Help keep meat supplies stocked and organized.
